The services behind AABforAndroid
AABforAndroid runs on a small set of well-known services. Here is who does what, so you know where your visit goes.
This page describes the technology we use. Listing a company here does not mean it endorses AABforAndroid.
Services that run the site
Hosting, speed, security, translation and publishing.
Cloudways – hosting
Managed cloud hosting on Vultr servers. It runs the website and its database, with server caching to keep pages fast.
Cloudflare – speed and security
Delivers pages quickly around the world, protects the site from bots and attacks, stores and delivers the APK files we host, and routes email to our support team.
GTranslate – languages
The language menu in the header. It translates every page into 36 languages.
WordPress – publishing
The publishing platform behind every page, with Yoast SEO to keep pages clear for search engines.
Where app information comes from
App details are collected from public sources and link back to them.
F-Droid – open-source apps
The catalogue of free and open-source Android apps. Open-source apps on the site come from F-Droid with their licence and source-code link, and the files we host are checked against F-Droid’s checksums.
Google Play – store apps
For store apps, the description, version, rating, icon and screenshots come from the official Google Play listing, and each page links back to it.
