What's new v1.5.0
- Score Breakdown moved into Checks (chart icon). It adds up to your score; tap a line to jump to that check.
- Most checks the app can't read now ask you to verify them instead of costing points.
- Safer advice: no tips to disable Play Services or uninstall preinstalled apps.
- Rescans when you return from a fix.
- Fresh look and better dark-mode contrast.
- Better detection of keyboards, browsers and launchers.
- Heads-up: better detection may lower your score, as apps missed before now count.
About Privamatic
Privamatic audits your Android device and gives you a clear 0–100 privacy score based on your actual settings — not guesswork.
Whether you're just starting to take privacy seriously or you're already running GrapheneOS, Privamatic shows you exactly what's exposing your data and how to fix it, step by step.
- 50 automated checks, from system settings to the apps you have installed:
- System security (screen lock, encryption, security patch, USB debugging, biometrics)
- Network privacy (VPN, Private DNS, Advertising ID, Wi-Fi scanning)
- Default apps (browser, keyboard, SMS, email, launcher)
- Surveillance apps (Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, TikTok, X, Reddit, AI assistants)
microG is detected and not penalised, GrapheneOS sandboxed Play is recognised, camera-compatibility shims are not mistaken for real Google apps, and checks that do not apply to your setup are automatically skipped. If a setting can't be read on your device, most checks ask you to verify it instead of costing points.
Score Breakdown explains every point: one line per check that costs you points, adding up to your score. Tap a line to jump straight to that check.
Quick Wins put the fixes worth the most points first — each one includes plain-English instructions and a direct link to the relevant Settings page, and Privamatic rescans when you come back.
Score History tracks your privacy score over time with a line chart, so you can see whether you're actually improving.
SDK Fingerprinting scans your installed apps for known tracker SDKs — see exactly which apps are embedding ad networks, analytics, and profiling tools, powered by the Exodus Privacy database.
Trusted Apps let you whitelist FOSS apps that legitimately use accessibility, notification, or location permissions. Trusted apps are removed from your score penalty in real time — you decide what you trust.
Manual Checks remind you to periodically review location permissions, camera and microphone access, and unused apps — the things that can't be checked automatically.
A home screen widget keeps your privacy score visible at a glance, with Material You theming that adapts to your wallpaper.
- Privacy is built in:
- Fully offline — no network requests, ever. Privamatic never requests the INTERNET permission, so Android will not let it connect even if it tried; check F-Droid's permission list or the open source code yourself.
- No accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics
- All data stays on your device
- Open source (GPLv3)
Works on any Android 8.0+ device. Made with GrapheneOS in mind, and just as useful on CalyxOS, LineageOS or stock Android.
