What's new v0.4.2
More reliable message delivery when a relay sends unexpected data.
More careful handling of contacts and groups.
About Kryfo
a private messenger. no phone number, no email, no account. you are a key
pair generated on your device. nobody, including us, can look you up or tie
your chats to a real identity.
everything travels over tor. content is end to end encrypted with the signal
protocol. when a contact is offline, messages wait on relays, sealed so the
relay learns nothing about who is talking or what is said. no address book
upload, ever.
features:
- no phone number or email to sign up
- end to end encryption (signal protocol)
- all traffic through an embedded tor client
- direct onion delivery, relay fallback when a peer is offline
- groups with photos, files, voice messages, replies, reactions, pins
- timed messages that burn after a set time
- encrypted local database and encrypted backups
- app lock with pin or biometrics
- panic wipe that removes everything, including media on disk
- no analytics, no telemetry, no ads
funding: no ads, no investors. it runs on what backers give. backing is
optional and anonymous, and every feature works the same either way.
